Mr. Thomas W Ting, President Thomas W. Ting, Corporate Counsel for Petters Group Worldwide, LLC, serves as legal counsel to the CAOF. Thomas received his undergraduate degree in Medical Ethics from Davidson College (N.C.) and his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Thomas' corporate practice has involved both domestic and international matters.

Mr. Dan Berg- Vice President
Dan Berg is Senior Asset Development Officer at The Minneapolis Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation he was head of development at The Minnesota Opera. He is a past board member of the U.S. China People's Friendship Association of Minnesota, and is a founding director of Parents United for Public Schools, a statewide coalition of parents and citizens advocating for strong, well-funded public schools.

Ms. Jane Rydholm - Legal Counsel
Jane Rydholm is an attorney and operates a law practice in Bloomington, Minnesota. Her practice focuses on providing immigration services to individuals and businesses. A former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota, she has worked extensively in the area of non-profit law. She received her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.

Ms. Florence Wong-Medical Donations Coordinator
Florence Wong obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California at San Francisco, and an MBA from the University of St.Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 31 years, most of which was with the Pharmaceutical division of the 3M Company.  She headed up the functions of  Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Compliance globally.  In 2006 she changed her focus to pursue her passion in music and other arts, and in community service. 

Dr Jennifer Wu
Jennifer was born and raised in Jilin City, Jilin Province, in northeast China. She went to Beijing for college and graduate school, receiving her bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature and master's degree in Applied Linguistics in English. She taught English at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences before coming to the University of Minnesota, where she received her Ph.D. in Educational Administration in 2006. 

Jennifer is the assistant director of the University of Minnesota’s China Center. She is in charge of recruiting undergraduate students from China. She also oversees scholarship, visiting scholars, and exchange programs. She advises students, faculty, and businesses on China-related issues. Her bilingual and bicultural skills have helped people communicate and collaborate more effectively.  

In March of 2006, Jennifer interpreted the talks given by Dr. Gao Yaojie organized by the CAOF. Dr. Gao is well known for educating people on HIV/AIDS prevention and for her work on behalf of the many children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in Henan Province, home to 100 million people. Jennifer was deeply touched by Dr. Gao’s persistence, determination, and fearless spirit. She soon became a CAOF board member and continues to enjoy working with the CAOF team. 

Steven Q. Wang, MD-Founder and Former President
Dr. Wang is a graduate of the Cornell University and completed his medical school at the Albert Einstein College School of Medicine. Stirred by a New York Times article on 8/25/2002 detailing the plight of orphans and AIDS victims in the Henan province, he and other activists in Minneapolis founded the China Aids Orphans Fund with the aim to deliver humanitarian relief.  Currently Dr. Wang serves as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery and Dermatology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center at Basking Ridge, NJ.

Ms. Dawn Lindquist
Ms. Dawn Lindquist is a lifetime resident of Minnesota, Dawn Lindquist has a B.A. in East Asian Studies from the University of Minnesota and is on the staff of the Development Department of The Minneapolis Foundation. Following college, she taught children in Japan and worked with The Minnesota International Center. Most recently she worked in strategic planning at a leading leadership development firm headquartered in Minneapolis."

Mr. Brian Hammer
Brian recently moved to Shanghai to accept a new position as Shanghai Program Director for The Alliance for Global Education. Since 1986, he has studied and worked in mainland China (Nanjing, Beijing, Harbin, Shanghai) for nearly 5 years. His graduate work ( M.A. and Ph.D.) in geography at the University of Washington in Seattle focused on the social-cultural consequences of economic reform in mainland China, including poverty in rural counties. Past volunteer activities include working as an HIV Testing Counselor with The Washington Free Clinic, Washington, D.C.

Peg Helminski
The adoptive mother of two Chinese children, Peg Helminski experienced a strong emotional reaction to The New York Times report by Elizabeth Rosenthal on the plight of China's AIDS orphans. Her initial inquiries into the situation and about getting aid to these children resulted in frustrating dead ends--until she learned of the efforts of Steven Wang, MD and the newly forming China AIDS Orphan Fund. Peg has a dual major B.A. in English and Behavioral Sciences from St. Francis College (PA) and an M.Ed. in Counseling from James Madison University (VA). She was a marriage and family counselor, and currently works as a freelance writer.
